Hi!  My name is Donna Rodgers and I started my mosaic business in April, 2002. 

I became interested in mosaics over 15 years ago and started studying about it.  I began doing mosaics with ceramic tile and I put it on everything, floors, countertops, tables and my husband says everything that would stay still.  I was disappointed in the color choices you are limited to with ceramic tile.  I eventually discovered using broken china.  There is a vast array of colors and choices where broken china is concerned so I found a new love, "Broken China Mosaics". 

I began doing so much of it that my house became overrun and there is only so much you can give to relatives and friends so I decided to began selling my work in Canton, Texas at the worlds largest flea market.  You may know it as First Monday Trade Days. 

I am there the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday before the first Monday of every month selling my mosaics.  If you ever stop by, come see me in The Arbors II, Space 202. 

Whitney Tate's Mosaics & Gifts (named after my daughter Whitney and my son Tate) is my second job.  I also work in an insurance agency, Norment & Landers Insurance and have been there for 30 years. 

I am married to a very supportive husband, David and have two children son Tate and his better half Shannon and my beautiful granddaughter Makenna Brooke Rodgers and daughter Whitney and better half David who I hope will be working on that second grandchild in the near future. 

I live in the small Texas town of Deport.  I have 8 animals and spend most of my time in my studio doing mosaics along with my constant companion, A. J. (chihuahua) who is constantly in my lap taking a nap and dodging pieces of broken china, ha ha.
